Of course the Gallery varies in quality from time to time, but this week has produced some of the best work I've seen for a while - one of Rupert Cordeux's most evocative oils, Mia Ketels' Christmas card, and so many more high quality pieces - Rupert's painting is a lesson in oil painting in itself, because it was a very quick study and you can see how he built it.
I swear the quality keeps getting better: but this has been an especially impressive week, so congratulations to everyone on the Gallery over the last couple of days - there's so much good work I have trouble in rationing my comments: there's no way you could choose the best out of such a field: they're all good. Not that they aren't usually, but this has been a bumper crop on the whole.

We all have our favourites and it seems almost unfair to mention any by name but I must say that the ones that stood out for me were Philip Motgomery and Martina Furlong partly because they are either new or don't post often and Nacho Frades (when he uses shapes and avoids the addtition of figures). The PTG1 Field Texture exercises have all been superb (including our Alan's great rendition) . Oh yes I must add - it's great to Mia posting her charming card.
