How are you making the (what's the word, what's the word, why can I never think of the damn' word????) um.... the plate, I suppose, that which picks up the ink and makes the impression? I can't really see from the above.

Oh I don't think it looks amateurish or silly - I like prints like this: maybe not this particular one so much, although there's nothing wrong with it, but say an eagle's head, or other bird of prey.... or a simple building, or tree: it could make a very effective card, yes. I shall speedily investigate the link you've given.
