Being quite impatient I usually have a couple of works on the go so that I can continue painting while one is drying. Today I was working between a watercolour and a pen and wash. Both the same subject but with different effect. Everything was going smoothly until I went back to my ink sketch to drop some wash onto it - only to discover I had used the wrong ink. All the veins in my leaf bled as soon as I touched it with a light wash. Is it possible to be so stupid?? Don't think about answering that because I am in a foul mood. It is ruined. I hadn't even intended putting the leaves on - it was a late decision and I have spent hours on this painting. It was proving to be my best ever. Prior to starting this I had been accomplishing nothing on a regular basis so decided to organise my workspace and I mean I really did organise it. There is a place for everything and everything is in its place - yet I picked up the wrong pen. I will never make that mistake again.
