I have decided to give gouache paints a bash, but so far I have not been that happy with the results. The main problem is finding a suitable surface. I have tried tinted watercolour paper and pastel paper so far, but the paint seems to dry or get absorbed into the paper right away, and the paint gets all claggy.Would priming a surface help? What do other gouache painters paint on?
