I realise there is another thread on Gouache paint, but I have another question. I have dabbled a few times with gouache, and the other day decided to paint a pansy flower (from a photo taken in my garden). I decided to use the paint as watercolour, wet on wet. My friend who I was visiting at the time, was rather off with me as I was using the paint this way, and said that I should use it like oils or acrylic. Is there a rule? Reading the other topics, it seems that you should water down gouache paint. The pansy is not quite finished yet, but when it is I will put it on the Gallery. Please advise, thanks.
