I tried something totally different some days ago. Purchased a small pack of clay after reading the September issue of LP & the Artist.
Page 8, spotlight on art. An article about a person that took a pottery course and made a watercolour palette, so, thought I'd have a go, but not so big, and fewer pans for paint, but more room for mixing. Also had a go at making individual paint pans of various sizes. I decided to make the edge of the palette like a piecrust, to hold the brushes, and because it was fun to do so. All very naive and rustic, something, Fred Flintstone would like?
The main thing is I enjoyed the process and will try and make a few more pans. They've all been painted with white ceramic paint, which is now dry, all that's left to do is try it out. As always practice (might) makes sort of perfect.
