I tried something totally different some days ago. Purchased a small pack of clay after reading the September issue of LP & the Artist. Page 8, spotlight on art. An article about a person that took a pottery course and made a watercolour palette, so, thought I'd have a go, but not so big, and fewer pans for paint, but more room for mixing. Also had a go at making individual paint pans of various sizes. I decided to make the edge of the palette like a piecrust, to hold the brushes, and because it was fun to do so. All very naive and rustic, something, Fred Flintstone would like? The main thing is I enjoyed the process and will try and make a few more pans. They've all been painted with white ceramic paint, which is now dry, all that's left to do is try it out. As always practice (might) makes sort of perfect.

...Now that ratio is definitely a palette designed by an artist. Well done Carol
Thankyou, Norrette, I like to use a limited palette. I have bought small paint palettes, however, I had the inspiration from the article and it has given me the boost to get my paints out, at last, and do something. Tonight will be the night for painting.
Hi Carol, great idea :-) I am curious how it'll look after you've used it. Please post a photo here. OK?
Ok, with that, Rhia. Thanks for asking, I'm well pleased with your request. Most probably will be tomorrow.
My little palette will have to wait for a moment. I have been painting, but walls, with emulsion paint. An s.o.s, from a friend about to have visitors. I'll be back with some water colour painting, soon.
