I've used both of these colours for a few years, switching from one to the other in order to see what the difference is. They both seem to be the same colour, although in watercolour and acrylic, raw sienna seems less opaque than yellow ochre. In oil paint, both have the same opacity in my opinion.
I know that either raw sienna or yellow ochre are useful in a palette, but do I need both? What's the difference between the two?
