Good Sunday morning, hope it's painting day for you! I have not touched acrylic or oil yet, deemed to be the serious media of art. I have read & talked about acrylic which gets rave revues as a miraculous, versatile paint which can be made to look like all the other media or mixes of them without the "hassles" eg with watercolour it's difficult to cover errors without using body colour, with oils all the turps, white spirit and nasty smelling chemicals. I was wonderig why the oil artists amongst us still choose to use oils when there is an alternative in acrylic. Is it just the slow drying time or are there lots of "affinities" between painter and oil paint? Many thanks for any replies and help. best wishes, colleen :-) PS Went back through the threads but can't see any discussion on this topic yet!
