It is a very good idea Norder.I am in touch with GOSH. They have sent me their Logo.I will make a draft for all to print. We would have to wait for the address of the webpage before completing the draft. But as soon as it is all sorted out, I would send it to all of you.I am all ears for the wording if any of you have ideas. My main advert is : Donate for charity GOSH and receive a painting in return. What is yours ?Another thing is that GOSH got a publicity press corner and it will be used as soon as needed. Corporate sponsors them and will see our page.

Most towns in the UK have a 'thebestof' site. i.e. thebestof King's Lynn, which I just happen to own. Each of these sites have an events page an the site owners would I'm sure be delighted to help us flag the auction up. They will also have close contacts and relationships with local businesses which they might help you exploit.
It's easy to find out if your town has a 'bestof' site...simply Google "thebestof~TOWN NAME~ e-mail them your request with the details and links and by all means mention that the site owner of TBO King's Lynn, Alan Castleton, is one of the contributors and is advising you to make contact.
Thebestof is a major brand and very good at exploiting Google with whome we have a close relationship which means that anything featured on the site gets a very high Google ranking at the local level.

The sites contain a business directory...that's how we make our living...but every site has an 'events page' and more. Events are free to anyone in the community and charity events are always welcomed. Each site aims to offer benefits to the whole community of that town. The most important thing that our sites aim to do is to give 'voice' to local people about their local businesses (Peter Jones of the Dragons Den hailed us as 'the word of mouth specialists for the UK). If you belong to a local art club for instance, most site owners would be happy to list you in the 'local info' section (free) and some may even be happy to flag up your exhibitions etc on the events pages.

I'm afraid folks I can't advertise over here I'll get kneecapped...they are always looking for money for our very neglected hospitals...when we had the big fires over East we did try to get an auction of the ground but know one would help including the Forum...ebay threw one girl off for putting her picture on for charity but she did sell it privately to someone who saw it before they took it off...she got $1000 isn't that good...she gave the money to the Red Cross...so three cheers for Painters On Line for what they are doing to help

Sorry to hear things are so draconian down in oz Patsy. My brother recently moved down under, about 40 miles from the fire-struck region, talk about 'out of the frying pan'.
Just goes to show that we are very lucky to have the POL team backing this project and their help will add ££££ to the cause.
Remember, we are not trying to sell anything here, we should devote our time and energy to getting as many people as posible to view the web page POL are setting up, so, when the time comes get links to local forums, art groups, school forums, anywhere where there is online community chatter and networking.....the internet is all about viral marketing...you send someone you know an e-mail with a link and ask them to forward it on to people they know (friends and family etc) and don't forget the 'social networking' sites such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. ;-)
