I hope one of you can help.
I sometimes apply gold leaf to paintings, and to date I have tended to underpaint in acrylic, use acrylic gold leaf size to apply the metal, then continue to develop the painting in oils.
Is it possible to apply the gold leaf directly to an oil painting? If so is there a specific medium I need to use?
Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks Duncan.
