No, of course you don't: unless you've been stalking me, and if you have been, what a hideously tedious life you must lead....
But anyway: one of the things that I like to do is make stand oil: wait until it gets treacly; and then decant it into a bottle mixed with some Turpentine: I tip the smaller bottle, by mounting it on a larger one, and then - I wait. It can take half an hour for the stand oil to dribble into the pre-mix of stand oil and Turps; and top it up with Turps if it's not fluid enough.
Simple pleasures, eh? It does take a while ... and you can buy your own stand oil, ready-mixed, from any number of retailers. But I much prefer making my own, and I recommend it to you: it does take time, but it's worth it; I think - other opinions are available. It certainly served me well today in a small oil; or as well as anything else would have done. Or I think it did: does one ever really know what works in any given painting...... assuming it works at all..... am I running on again.....?
