Hi
I am interested in opinions regarding whether to date your paintings or not. Sometimes a signature can look obtrusive, let alone adding a date.
I appreciate that when signing and dating a picture it's best to use a colour that will blend in but still enable the signature and date to be seen.
The point I am really trying to make is that if a prospective purchaser sees a picture dated several years ago, might this put them off?
Obviously this doesn't apply to the classical artists but I have noticed that some modern artists don't date their pictures.
Cheers. B-)
