I suspect, having bought different makes of cadmium colours, they could be all made in the same place, thereby being bought in and titivated by each individual firm. Wondered if others agree

Yes, but mixing cadmium, I presume, would be darn right dangerous, and not something that any company could do because of regulations with an obvious dangerous substance.

Also, I suspect that Langridge dark yellow maybe as good as a cadmium. I need it, so I reckon I’ll give it a shot. Langridge maybe ahead of their time
