I have been using Winsor and Newton Artisan water soluble oils for more than a year and have found them to be excellent - a welcome relief from the unpleasant odours associated with conventional oils. I have three of their mediums but use only the oil painting medium all the time. Only once have I had cause to use the fast drying medium and that worked fine. Today, I wanted to use it again and after struggling to remove the cap found that its consistency had changed to something thicker than treacle and it has a milky appearance. It says "shake well before use". Have you tried shaking a tin of treacle? I wonder has anyone else experienced this problem or can suggest what may have happened?BTW, the other medium I have is water soluble linseed oil that as yet, I haven't had cause to use.
