Many years ago I bought some Yupo Paper and couldn't cope with it, so I gave it away . I also belong to Nature Journal Club an American based art site for all things growing, flying, crawling and swimming . The other day someone posted a wonderful pic done on Yupo. I won't post it as I don't have their permission. But they have made the paper work for them.
So the ten sheets of A4 I ordered have just appeared in my post box. So I am trying again. Watch this space,.
Ha...Carole woukd work well with your experimenting.

Interested to see that you’re trying again with Yupo, Sylvia. I also bought some years ago, and despite numerous attempts have only managed to finish this one painting with it. It’s really frustrating to work with - as the paper is synthetic the paint tends to swim around on it, you have limited control, and it takes forever to dry. On the plus side, the colours dry very bright, and if you’re using watercolour you can just wipe off any areas you don’t like and repaint them - but this does mean you can go on forever making changes! I’ve seen some really beautiful, delicate Yupo work on this site which is quite inspiring. Look forward to seeing how you get on with it!

Pretty good (you'll take condescension, I hope?!) but I think your work doesn't need special papers - though of course it's always fun to try things and have a play. In other words, I don't see what the paper has brought to your technique, but I do see what your techniques have brought to the paper, if that makes sense.
I seem to remember that this stuff is a form of plastic, or plasticized paper - and I have seen a sheet of it, and thought No: thanks, but no. My feeling was that wet washes would take a lifetime to dry, and dry brush could probably be scraped off - but I suspect I'm a lot more conservative than you! I had reservations about Ampersand panels, too - and was wrong about those: I wondered if oil would adhere, and it does. So you see, I do take a risk occasionally.....
