A friend of mine has been querying Yupa Paper. She has found info on Google read all about it . But she wonders if anyone has actually used it? and if so have theyany observations to pass along. I have used Lana paper very smooth and plasticky I wondered if it was a similar product....Anyone ?.
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

It's more usually called Yupo paper - very smooth, permits a variety of techniques. I've not used it, but I've seen it used on YouTube - the Dick Blick company, and Cheap Joe's, both American of course, have put demos up.

There was also a short-ish article about it in the International Artist magazine a few years ago - I probably have it, but it would be a question of finding it amongst the piles of magazines I've still got: she could try searching their site.

YUPO Synthetic Papers are extruded from polypropylene pellets. The process of extrusion occurs in our quarter-mile long manufacturing facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia. The various grades, weights and thicknesses of YUPO are spun into spools in lengths from 725 yards to 7,500 yards, which are cut in to widths from 6 to 66 inches. I know someone who's used Yupo paper and he liked it. Here's a detailed assessment of the paper, from a member of the Wetcanvas web site. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=445964 Wetcanvas is a huge site with thousands of members and you can usually find the answer you want.

Yes, Rick Cheadle uses it for his painting projects. He does outstanding work with alot of different types of paints, inks, and mediums.
