Mozart when I'm stuck and need inspiration - don't know why it works, but it always has so far.
Bruckner when I'm after a bit of deep emotional stirring.
And Jethro Tull, 'cause I like 'em .... I like classical music on the whole, but a bit of JT cheers me up nicely and helps loosen me up too.
At the moment, I've been clobbered with an arthritic flare-up in my neck and shoulders so haven't been able to hold a brush for more than a few minutes - but it'll pass. It's why I've been here nattering so much - couldn't paint, but can, for some odd reason, type..

I have to listen to music when I paint, silence makes me want to get up and do stuff. Generally I like to listen to something with a fast pace or something I can sing along to - rock or heavy metal, occasionally the blues as that always puts me in a good mood. Sometimes 80s pop music. I tend to produce my best work if I listen to something loud and aggressive though.
