I have heard that several painters like to work with some form of music to listen to. Personally I enjoy listening to Classic FM and any easy listening CD's, As a person who in the past has done Reiki healing I also enjoy listening to the relaxing music I used in a healing session... Do any of you paint to heavy rock music? I'm sure one could produce a good abstract when that is playing.. :-D So what do you listen to??
Jazz, classical, Blues, rock, it all gets played. I am not selective though I grab a CD from the rack and shove it on. I have no ultra modern discordant jazz or classical.
It depends what mood I'm in - quite often listen to Radio 4 (non-music I know) but if I'm feeling a bit more 'up', anything from The Jam to The Smiths to Queens of the Stone Age. Think it hinges on how many strong coffees I've had.
I think I've already answered this in another thread but for the record (no pun intended - oh yes it was) anything classical , Classic FM, and currently the CD 'In A Time Lapse' by Einaudi
I once listened to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody whilst doing a watercolour version of Monet's Water Lilies ! It actually came out great. Other than that, whatever is playing on the radio at the time I am painting.
