I’ve had my 8 year old granddaughter today....poorly! I asked her if she wanted to do some painting, however she’d left her crayons and felt tips at home, so out came my watercolour pencils and oil pastels. She said she wanted to paint a rainbow like Vincent Van Gogh. So I asked her how she knew about Vincent. She then proceeded to tell me about his starry night painting and his sunflowers, “they’re famous you know, nana” I then googled him for her and we looked at the images. She recognised some of the images because “I’ve been learning about Vincent in art on Wednesday’s”.
Sylvia’s poem came to mind....but Daisy did her ‘swirly’ rainbow and a sunflower in the colours she wanted to use.....purple, red and yellow.
