Is it possible to use the same brushes for Acrylic and Watercolour? I know that one might wish to use different types, but the question is really this "if I use my watercolour brushes in acrylic paint, will it then ruin them for watercolours?"
Why do I ask? because I bought a tube of that priceless blue paint, but in acrylic so it was reasonable, because the idea of a paint which glistens when used as night time sea was too intriguing to resist. It might come to nothing, but then again... Anyway, can I safely use my usual brushes or should I use a brush I never use for water colour?
I do appreciate that the whole idea might come to naught...but unless I try..

I dont know why you would want to use the same brushes for WC and acrylic . Acrylic needs a lot of washing out the paint and this treatment is not good for synthetics and of course deadly to sables. In the catalogues you get , the two brush types are under different sections and for good reason. W C is a light touch delicate way of painting compared to the more robust acrylic style Buy new brushes to keep the two separate and you will find the difference in use...Cheers Syd
