I was invited by my children's school to help them paint a fibreglass horse (a full scale model of a thoroughbred; it came to the school from Newbury Racecourse, who will borrow it back for a competition on Dubai International Race Day). We are painting a design collated by one of the teachers from several ideas that the children came up with. I get to paint the high-up bits (the head :-) ), to tidy up the edges and make the occasional executive decision. And clean most of the paintbrushes. So it is not really "mine", but it still counts as the most unusual thing I have ever painted on. It beats the school itself (mural, exterior, under similar circumstances) hooves down! Here's the latest picture... So... what is the strangest thing that you have painted on?

My cigar box lids look a bit tame after that..... Years ago, I painted model cowboys n' Injuns with oil paint - did a rather good job of it, too, but haven't got them now. Where do our toys go??? Mothers give them away, that's what happens.
Yes. Some mothers must do the giving away thing before the child's bedroom becomes impossible to walk through. I must encourage my children to tidy up every now and then.
I enjoy painting on beach finds such as driftwood, pebbles and shells. A year a so ago whilst beach combing I found a newly washed up shoal of cuttlefish bones, I couldn't resist and they made an excellent surface to paint on!
I am presuming these are secondary school age children as the work is terribly neat. It looks wonderful and very colourful.
