The gift of love and passion thought art Thinking about the difference between mass produced paintings, my works of art, what part this plays in how people choose a painting, sculpture or any work of art and in my life as an artist, I have realized that a work of art is only truly successful due to the love and passion of art by its creator. I feel I leave a piece of myself in each work of art I create and know many artists that feel the same way. Unlike the mass produced paintings flooding the market in large stores and market places, art created though love and passion is a precious gift which has become infused with pieces of the artist's heart and sole. Therefore, art as a gift needs to be created by a person that is passionate and works hard to create joy, wonder, intrigue and beauty. When creating a gift, unless the work has been purchased, nothing remains after it’s viewed but the memory of it. One has to remember that it was for the viewer the gift was created. If the art is made for profit and sales alone it can lose the gift of “love and passion infused by the artist”. To be presented with a gift that carries that awe is so special and precious.
