I've been eager to progress with several paintings I have underway today. But my eight month old daughter has decided otherwise. It's funny, but she takes no notice of me until I move to the easel and then it's all a case of 'what are you up to, Dad?' and 'can I help?' Thankfully. I'm one of the most patient people I know!

Diesel74, I had to wait till the kids left home before I could seriously think about painting. That meant I was rather a late starter but I've made up for it since! Think about it all the time now.

I used to have to wait until Hollie went to bed before I started painting, so it meant some late nights for me! Now she's 11 and she disappears up to her bedroom as soon as we're home...ah, peace and quiet!
