I've just heard, via Facebook, of the death of Terry Harrison - artist, teacher, demonstrator, film-maker, and the man who encouraged so many amateur, leisure, and professional artists in watercolour and acrylic. I'm sure we all send our deepest sympathies to his partner, Fiona Peart, and the many, many people who have read his books, watched his videos, winced at his jokes .... I know we'll all feel a deep sense of personal loss, and will never forget him. Terry - rest in peace: you'll be missed.
Paul Hardy had put a blog up a couple of days ago. I never met Terry but watched some videos he made. He seemed a very happy and lovely person. He will be greatly missed.
I have some of his books and watched him many times on video. A very nice person. He certainly will be missed.
I'm not a fan of his work but I recognise the encouragement he gave to so many and as such he will be a great loss to the art world.
He will be missed by many and it was sad to hear that he is no longer with us. I also have a book of his and seen him on video, a talented artist who taught a lot to many novice painters.
I have justread in “Paint” about the passing of Terry, I have never met him but I wish I had as I have learnt a hell of a lot from his videos. My deepest sympathy goes out to Fiona Peart and Terry’s family and friends.I know he will be painting in a better place – RIP.Ray.
