Trawling through the various poor TV offerings Last night I came upon programme showing the artists at work producing what can loosely be described as art. Skip to the exhibition itself and what a load of old rubbish was defacing the hallowed walls.Where do they get these judges ,including the strange apparition in the soft hat we have seen before judging real art in previous TV shows . Did anyone else chance upon this programme or were they lucky to have missed it ?...Syd
Did see a programme a few nights ago, not sure if it was the same one, and wasn't all that impressed. However I was much taken by the landscape by Nicholas Blanning - a sombre but very arresting piece. The middle one - what do others think? http://www.nicholasblanning.com/
Yes Alan - whilst I was quite taken with it (I guess when compared with other exhibits in the exhibition) I have seen similar pieces here on POL of at least equal merit.
I find it all quite depressing, but no, I didn't see it and the reason is we threw the TV out last August. Do we miss it? Not at all.
I recorded it and did watch it just a few moments ago. I stopped watching halfway because I lost interest. Is that what we expect to be on the RA? I think the POL-gallery has more quality work than that!! So, Adele, you didn't miss anything at all!
You will miss all the repeats of repeats Adele . have you given this deep thought ?? Syd
Only saw the last ten mins on Sunday after the footer. It seemed typical London art scene??? Only visited once years ago, never again. and don't talk to me about Una Stubbs!
Good to know I didn't miss anything Mia. It was an old TV Syd so if we feel the need of another one, we will buy although I am hoping that will not happen as we have discovered life away from the screen. Don't you like Una Derek? She says tongue firmly in cheek.
GOOOOOOOOoooood Grief!
