I've just started two studio walls. These are apparently for paintings you like, info and blogs you think you may like to refer to, etc, etc. For the non techies, like me, I thought it might be worth mentioning how I got on. I accessed it through the 'my membership' link (near the POL banner at the top of the page). Clicking on Studio Wall takes you to a page that allows you to set up new 'boards' (or studio walls). I made one for PORTRAITS and one for IMAGES that contain useful info.
Oddly you need an image to set up a new board, clicking on it takes you to your own computer. (I'd thought it would take you to the gallery to pin pictures on your board). But it seems you have to put one of your own images there to set the new board up. I just used my profile pic. So I now have two boards as my 'studio wall.'
For example, I've pinned Paul Hopkinson's 'Fox in Watercolor' painting. A super picture and he includes info on the brush used for texture. If I don't make a note, I'll forget that. So a studio wall board is a convenient way to make those notes.
A key factor is 'does the wall provide all the info you want?' When you look at your board it just shows the painting with no other info. However, clicking on the painting takes you back to the painting in the gallery with the artist's notes and all the comments.
So...a useful feature.

I wish they'd got the English right though..."hang TO studio wall"???
I get fed up of these errors...reminds me of work where are run by Germans. Nowt wrong wi' Germans, but they have odd phrases. Surely one hangs ON a studio wall unless one is pinning it TO?
Anyway, its not a button I shall become familiar with I m sure.

Pleased you like the new feature Pete! The idea is that you can use it a bit like Pinterest but rather than just pin images, you can hang useful content and products from the website and locate them really easily in your "My membership" zone and return back to them time and time again. Now you can delete too and you don't have to set an image if you don't want to. 😊

Hi jenny. After the 60 days the Studio option will be a paid for membership. Everything else on the site will remain free of course. If you wish to keep all the Studio extras you will be invited to pay for just Studio or Studio+ which includes a magazine subscription. You can see more about the costs here https://www.painters-online.co.uk/membership/
