Hi everyone, am new to this forum and would appreciate advice and suggestions.
I am a professional painter and have recently taken early retirerment from a teaching post at art college and moved to a village.
What initially seemed like peace and lots of spare time now feels very isolated and I miss my colleagues discussion on all matter art.
Reading in a recent edition of the Artist 'join an art group' seemed an excellent idea but unfortunately I seem to live in a corner of England sadly laking in any -so I thought I would try to start one in our village.
It has a community centre - with affordable rooms for one session a week - and lively local village magazine whose editor is willing give free publicity to generate interest.
So far so good - however would appreciate suggestions or advice - assuming I can get enough people interested - will it evolve naturally or should I set some sort of aims at the outset. Want it to be a friendly and welcoming to all - but do want it to be about art.
advice welcomed especially if you have done similar
