It is fun when you sell a pic unexpectedly . This young* lady was singing in Ronnie Scott's with yet another grandchild... She bought it for her mum.
Yay!   Well done!  So that's three of our members in the last day/few hours who have sold paintings - hope this is a good sign for the future for all of us.
And here's the one I just sold - my second favourite acrylic - enjoyed painting this one, and I miss it now!  Still - money helps. I'd really like to replace it, with a better painted copy - should I, or should I just wave it goodbye?  I couldn't copy it exactly anyway, but - there's a hole on my wall now....
It's a goodie Robert... I can't work like that doing it again.  But if you want to fill that space then go for it.
Don't think I can either, Sylvia - once done, it's done, and no good looking back.  But I did like this one - it reminded me of my youth, walking along the path with my old dogs.  The ancient Sally, and her daughter Judy (both named by my little brother): we met the Isle of Wight Hunt one day - old Sal just stood stock still, staring at the lead hound; Jude hid behind her; the hounds took a good look, and veered right beneath the hooves of the Master's horse, very nearly unseating him.   Hee hee...... I think old Sal was protecting her daughter, and perhaps me - no retreat! I was very proud of her.  She was such a beautiful dog - I have photos, and must paint her one day.
That is your replacement painting, old Sal.
No wonder you are missing it Robert; a very lovely painting.
I’ll probably get shot at for saying this, but if you have a detailed enough photograph, you can get it printed onto canvas and hang it in the same place.  I did this using a company called Photobox for a picture I gave to a family member.  If you miss the image and the view it could help. If you miss the brushwork then probably best to repaint it.  Just a thought.
A good thought Andrew.
I shan't shoot you, Andrew - good idea.  And to paint old Sally - well, she's been gone since 1979: worst year of my life - both dogs died in succession, I broke my back, and a certain woman became Prime Minister, on whom I shall not dwell - she has her admirers; I am not one of them.  Mind you, compared with the present shower....  But let me not get political.   I waited for HM's funeral to be over before posting - watched it all; you have to admire both the Church of  England and the armed forces and police, for the way they do these things: a moving occasion, and not so bogged down in ritual and protocol as to be alienating even to republicans, I hope.
I listened and painted....as you know I haven't renewed my TV licence. Don't want to be invaded  by nasty little men... it was quite interesting to listen to and very peaceful.   BUT please can we get back to normal now...like worrying about escalating energy costs and boring stuff like that.
Believe me, I've not stopped worrying about escalating energy costs......
