Once again, reading through the other team, there is a nice little article by a one, Ray Balkwill, Simplifying Scenes. Alas, he is a great believer that painting outdoors is the best way to go; however it was gratifying that he include a bit about drawing from photos, and advocated something that I have been doing for years. Make little B&W sketches and then when you paint put the photo away. I do go a bit further than that by merging several different photos in layers and sketching from the resulting picture to get totally different, imaginary, scenes based on reality, but that is besides the point. It is a useful little article.Going to sainsbury's later, they should have the latest LP, and TA, on the shelves, probably buy them if they're not sealed in plastic bags.bestMick
