Asking for a bit of help here please. I bought some frames from a Charity Shop recently but unfortunately 1 of them has little tacks to secure the back on to the frame. Does anyone have any suggestions on how get them out without breaking the actual frame. Many Thanks. Donna Crane
A thin pair of pliers , wriggle them out very carefully . And fingers crossed. If you do split the frame may be a good repair job!
Thanks Sylvia I'll give it a go but some of them are in deep!!
I have a pair of those thin nosed pliers (used to call them bogey-nose pliers when I was young) which I use regularly but you can also use a pair of side cutters but don't squeeze too tightly or you will cut through the tacks leaving a sharp bit sticking out.
Thank you Michael - I do have some thin nosed pliers which I use for jewellery making. Not heard of side cutters though. Donna
Side cutters are what electricians use to cut wires and flexes.
The thin-nosed pliers ought to do the job. A word of warning though - keep your other hand out of the way; what happens is the pliers don't always have a good grip, so they let go and you hand flies towards your other hand closing the pliers as it does so on the fingers of your other hand and it really hurts

Thanks Michael & Alan really appreciate the information. Donna
Thank you Syd that is going to be my first line of attack!! Will see how that goes and then maybe use the pliers to ease the tacks out - fingers crossed ;-) Donna
A screw driver is sometimes the easier option but take great care as you can damage the frame.
