I am interested to know if any members, or groups to which they belong, have effected insurance cover with the SAA.    On behalf of a group of which I am a Member I have been asked to look at the terms of the cover and I must say they very poorly drafted. As a consequence I wrote to the SAA with a string of questions on which I am seeking clarification and, needless to say, the SAA has been totally unhelpful - in fact almost dismissive. Even though the Group's contract is with the SAA, who bear legal liability, they have side-lined me and told me to contact their brokers direct.    The contact details they gave for their broker proved incorrect but I have now established a contact with them and they've told me they are prepared to answer my queries direct. I have forwarded my queries to them and I still await their response but it is early days.   I will let you know the outcome in due course but, in the meantime if anyone else has ever raised queries or has an interest in these matters please let me know.
Michael, my art club has had SAA Group Insurance cover for years and we’ve had no problems with it, although fortunately we’ve not needed to make a claim.

I think that's the rub Jenny - you've not had to make a claim and I suspect few have ever had to do so. If anyone has made a claim I would love to know how they have got on. If you look at the Guide to The Group Insurance Policy it is is so full of obscurites that any claim made could be challenged or even denied. I have raised a string of questions direct with Towergate as the SAA is effectively refusing to look into it on behalf of its members - I still await a reply and it will be interesting to see if I get one. I will be happy to share my groups questions with anyone via email or private message but, at this stage, I feel it will premature to post them to social media.
It is a standard Third Party Liability policy and is very competitively priced. Our Society has had the cover for a number of years. Not sure what the issues are but we have not had to make a claim (fortunately).
