What are your comments on repeating a painting,is it cheating or defrauding a buyer? I have had a small success with a painting I made up of a Bodega,a view thru a dark space into the bright sunshine .The first sold 40x40cm acrylic for 50€,it was in my local bar / restaurant, then I did it again as the buyer wanted a copy for a friend .then I got an order for another! so each time I changed the view slightly ,a different flowerpot, or the shape of the tree. I then painted a larger version for me ,on an oblong canvas, and added a cat,but wasn`t too happy with the format so put it in the bar and its sold for 130€!!.So do I keep painting and changing it slightly or am I cheating prospective buyers.I don`t claim each to be original and I did compose the scene myself. Luckily the bar does have a holiday clientel at this time of the year. Comments please, and yes I do need the money and quite enjoy painting this scene. *-)
