I have a very fine selection of art books and top it up twice a year where I buy 4 or 5 books at the start of the year and the same around this time ; I received two of the books on Thursday and am glad I ordered them , the first one is watercolour landscapes step by step by Milind Mulick who I think is a fabulous artist it's very simply written but done so beautifully and shows his very direct working methods , it cuts to the chase with direct beautiful examples the book is a joy to look at . The second book is called watercolour painting by Tom Hoffman which is a marvellous book which guides artists through the thought process one should be going through before committing to paint , its eye opening and beautifully written . I shall let all my friends know about the others when they arrive , I'm pretty fussy about my reading material and thought and read reviews before buying so I recommend them also to my all friends on site
Absolutely agree about Mulick, who also has YouTube demonstrations. it would be very helpful indeed if you listed your latest acquisitions - put a review under the relevant heading if you've time, but otherwise just letting us know when a good 'un is available would be helpful: so much is published now, and too much of it is repetitious and (quite honestly) not that good - so a working artist's recommendations are worth having. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Yes I look forward to the reviews. I also sometimes think a review section for legal and insurance issues would also be helpful (at least it would keep topics like copyright, artists resale rights, VAT, public liability, damage to paintings on display etc all together and easily accessible).
