I am off to Patchings with Julia and Ruth on a trip organised by the Art Society we all belong to. I am so looking forward to seeing her puppy pastel hanging there in all it's glory. Julia and I met on our first watercolour course just over 4 years ago, so it has been fantastic to see her progress and achievements and I couldn't be more thrilled for her. The girl has done good!!

Have a wonderful time and big congrats on the big birthday. Hope Julia has a lovely time and well done her. It's a good day out. If I remember rightly we booked a table for lunch. It's where all the paintings are hung , well very close. We booked as soon as we got there as it is VERY busy. Situation may be different, but it might just be useful. Have fun.

Sorry this has only limited relevence to art. I've just got back from my visit to the rat poison clinic, for them to test the clotting level of my blood and adjust my warfarin dose. The nurse offered me my next apointment at 09:05 Christmas eve, I declined, and then this woman had the temerity to ask me why, and became most annoyed when I told her, 'because I said no.' She started to drone on about how she has to work Christmas Eve; hardluck, change jobs if you don't like it, anyway we eventually came up with a date and time that suited. I had to remind her that apointments are made to suit both parties, I wonder what she was on. Anyway, the art bit, I got home and managed to smear a mixture or permanent carmine and ultramarine across the painting I'm fooling around with. I put it down to allowing myself to become agitated with this woman.bestMick
