Two more weeks have passed since my last diary entry. Today we had quite a lot of fun and they had a few surprises… what did we do? Mixed greens using blues and yellows, we all know that blue and yellow make green, but the variations on a theme can be quite magical, also quite horrendous. After a good play, we painted some plain green bushes and trees, when I say plain, I mean the first undercoat of green one gets when doing a landscape and after the paint has dried it becomes flat and dull, then using freshly made greens and stippling the colours onto the paper, the magic starts to happen, the trees take shape and varying the shades of green begin to show depth. I also showed the difference between strokes using odd shape brushes, i.e. the Rake and the Fan, also the Wolleys Wonderbrush which makes lovely round shapes by stippling, it really is amazing the different effects you can get by changing the way you use and hold the brush. Today I booked the room for our next term starting in September and now I will have to design the next poster. next week we shall carrying on with the paintings we started and improve our trees and add the forefront. Back to drawing board for some ideas…..Thank you all for taking the time to read my ramblings:Whistling:
