We have taken over a small shopping arcade; 22 of the 26 shops were empty and it was really depressing. We've filled the windows with art and put an exhibition in one of the largest shop units. I first suggested it last April with the intention of doing it in August but it took until November to achieve anything. Unfortunately although we have light there is no heating so it's been a bit of an endurance test. We've only got 22 members so it has stretched us a bit; I've been there every day since we opened. It was only planned to be a week at first but then it was extended until Christmas on Tuesdays (Market day) and Saturdays and now we're opening again on March 7th if we can find enough pictures! How enterprising so we'll done.  Why not add some demonstrations as well and get even more people in. I think it's a great idea...says she thinking abou5 all the empty shops around. Hope it continues to do well.

I did wonder about doing a picture while I was there - unfortunately my easel is in a shop window with a big painting on it! Peter
