In the mists of time we had a Thread somewhere here..."knowing When to Stop?" or similar...I can't locate it yesterday I typed this all out only to delete it rather than post it here...my vision is not too good at the moment... Work can sit on the easel for days...months...years even for the committed artist [obsessive?]...waiting to be finished...signed...exhibited...posted in The gallery...worst still sent to the commissioning client.. Those arbitrary changes due to over analysing a sector [upsets the balance of the other eight sectors etc.] The initial enthusiasm of spouses, gallery owners the purchaser have wained...it's not good enough says that small introverted inner voice... That audacity & efficiency have no part in the introverted world of the perfectionist...time has no part to play in the perfectionist world if it is not completed it can't be judged...perceived quality is all for the perfectionist...need to wait for it to dry... The patron Saint for perfectionist is perhaps Leonardo da Vinci...did he finally get that smile right or was it better before? Perhaps the antidote to this is MAD [Make a Delivery]? ...sign it...send it...post it...start a new work... Mel. continues to paint & post and be dammned....and you dear reader?
