I was told to resign last Friday. Personal - won't enlarge. Convinced a member had it in for me who harboured a press cutting nearly 5 years old. I will miss it greatly and still intend to paint, but not in the mood since then and my WIP bowl is on the easel.
Derek, that doesn't sound good. Hope you didn't murder anyone! Perhaps there is a possibility you could start your own club. Fight back. Have a little time out - say 15 minutes and then crack on. Best of luck.
Thanks Adele, long and complicated and I am not squeaky clean but it seems she is determined not to allow me to get on with my life.
Obviously you're a little tinker - hope they don't break your brushes in half. Good luck with sorting it all out, their loss!
Sounds unpleasant. I considered joining an Art Group recently (partly for exhibition purposes - might have been your former group, Derek, considering where you live) but didn't because everything happened on Saturdays and - well, I have children, and the weekend is family time. I have friends in a different Art Group and the politics sounds off-putting (I don't do politics) and the pace staid. I shall continue to forge my own path... you might be best out of it, Derek.
I am sorry Derek that you were outed, but please don't allow it to stifle your creativity. Unfortunately, there is a lot of nasty backstabbing and politicking that goes on in art groups and something I am no stranger to. I have found in my experience, it is the least talented who are the trouble makers.
Derek, like most of us on this site, we only know each other by our art and writings, so obviously I do not know you or the others involved in this affaire at your art club, but that old saying (in respect of thoses who you believe are on a witch hunt) will always stand true, Let those without sin cast the first stone, I don't think many stones would be picked up in most situations. Forget it, move on you have your skill, count it as a new chapter that person obviously has the problem not you.
Thanks again Adele. Amanda, Hastings and Malcolm, thanks too.
Just keep it calm and do it in a cool way.
Cheers
Thanks Sylvia, smashing advice.
Thanks David
