Hi everyone.
I've started blogging much more recently, particularly about being a self employed artist and the pain-staking stages of getting to be one.
I hope you enjoy and would love some feedback..
Many thanks
Samantha

Too much use of "and" in the opening paragraph, and when you say "dog's body" I presume you mean "dogsbody" - sack the proof reader; their grasp of the English language is appalling.
I have a question - how did you come out of Art College without a network of contacts, agents, recruiters or access to employment in art?
However, your blog post is entertaining and I'm sure it will find a market. The "You can't use up creativity" quote is up on the wall in one of the Schools where I teach guitar and it's a powerful motivator. Keep us posted

The 'one thing a day' philosophy can work. I adopted a similar approach to the development of the business I started in 1982 and it now employs 450 people worldwide, although I am no longer one of them, being fully retired now. Some years ago I adopted a similar approach to improving my painting skills although undertaking 'one thing a day' while working full time was not possible, but 'one or two things a week' helped progress matters. the key is simply setting a regime and sticking to it regardless of setbacks or those periods when progress is negligible or nil.

I think your web page is very good .stick with the little mistakes ,we all are human and have them ..be yourself no matter what brickbats you encounter,
be honest with people always , I can see you love your art ,so show it when you chat with them ,,all the luck in the world
.attend well known artists shows and be seen ,till they say hello its you again Samantha ...
take care Hugs Alan

another little thing ,I know a chap who attended art shows he always stood near the door and while giving his card ,used to say I do art lessons
take my card .(I did think he had a cheek though hee hee)If he had any talent I could have forgiven him ,,never the less it worked .

Writing, and grammar, are not unlike painting - or any other skill. The more of it you do, provided you make the effort to learn the basics of course, the better you get. I think the thing you aim for - not that I pretend I always achieve it - is what Alan calls 'less is more': i.e., simplicity - knowing what you want to say, saying it, then shutting up.
Blogs can tempt you to waffle, as can 'artist's statements': most artists would do a lot better to let their work speak for them, but your blog explores the issues around the work and doesn't, I think, try to explain the work itself; and that could be useful to many people who struggle alone.
