Having recently started trying to paint with oils, having previously concentrated in Watercolours for a couple of years, I am finding the transition quite difficult. It's more to do with the choice of subjects to paint I think. I have found that I tend to view potential subjects with the eye of a water colourist and then get stuck when attempting to create the oil painting. I would like to see the same subject painted in oils and watercolours maybe. I assume that I have missed out on a discussion on this topic in which case full apologies for this posting. My real question is, I suppose, are there horses for courses when choosing subjects for different media?
