I really am having unhappiness with trying to post anything on the forum... Its just become a complete nightmare. Log in , log out ...instead of showing posts with latest answers you have to scroll all the way down to find the latest post. I have posted twice today the same topic first one just went off to lalaland. second one was so far down the topic it might as well not be there. Posts from seven years ago are surfacing to the top . People who are dead and gone are listed , what does 'follow" mean ... what are acheivments for ? Sorry I am really fed up . I like the new gallery but this daft forum is driving me bonkers . Its taken all the fun out of it . Come on P O L lets have something workable. Oh and I have still had no answer as to where my Blogs have all gone to. I did send an e mail , but that also must have gone A W O L . As you may have gathered I am a bit cheesed off .

Join the club Sylvia - or at least I'll join yours! The new design of the Forum isn't good. As you say, it takes too long to find the topics, they're not available at a glance and it just feels impersonal now. As for the rest of the site, well, I'm trying to be positive but, although the clarity of the paintings is improved, a lot seems dis- jointed. Postings seem to jump all over the place, you can only scroll back so far and, because there are no guidelines, some people post too many, which I do find irritating. Even well respected artists,too, but if there are no longer any guidelines......disappointing that there are no longer any chosen paintings for the month....this was always something good to aspire to. I suppose we have to say it's early days.

Hi Marjorie...I am almost begining to think that Life is too short for all this pain in the butt stuff. If I gave up on P O L I might paint more pics. Now there's an idea. But in preference I really would like to be able to use the site easily.

Sylvia - I am not having the problems you seem to be experiencing - not sure why. I don't have to log in to either the forum or gallery at all as I appear to be automatically logged in all the time. If I click on 'latest' at the top of the forum page I get all the newest threads and posts. I think you have always had to scroll down to the end of a thread to find what the last comment is - no change there. I have only seen 'follow' on the gallery and all that means is if someone you have clicked on to follow posts a painting, then you get an email alert. If there is one a 'follow' on the forum then I presume it works the same way - you get an email alert if someone you are following posts a comment. No idea about achievements and I am not sure I am that interested. The fact that I am a 'forum guru' rather took my breath away - what on earth is one of those, lol!

Typical - I finally get round to posting and everybody's on about nicking off! It seems OK to me so far, but I'm not a regular poster so can't say too much I suppose.

Sylvia, Syd & Marjorie, sorry to hear you are having problems with the forum, please bare with it and us and stay a while longer, it really does get better the more you post and get used to this great new forum. You 3, are among others that made the old forum and it was because of experienced painters like yourselves that I joined. You are valued members, all of you and I'd hate for the forum to lose such expertise. Nerys

Just realised what this forum really needs, all the 3 year old stuff removing. It comes to the top of the threads and makes it look like no one has been on here in 3 years? I tried to make the newest posts come up automatically as other forums allow, but it doesn't seem to have a button for it on this forum?

It is nice to see so many familiar faces on here. Though I am still of the opinion that the old site was far more easy to manouvre around. Also the techie people really have not magically re discovered my Blog so I suppose I shall have to accept that it has gone fore ever. I would have liked it back. I also notice that the forum does not get the same traffic and the same amount of interesting topics. Maybe something to do with inaccesability .
