New Art Course

Well as many of you know last weeks art course was a disaster and because I had paid $144 I thought I'm not going to sit here miserable for the next 9 weeks...so a quick Phone call and change of course...it meant a change in household routine but hey...I started the new course today and it was wonderful...I was nervous but was soon put at ease by a wonderful gentleman...there were 3 new people and for each of us he had set up a still life of a twig of Gum leaves and some bark from a Paperbark tree each different and beautifully laid out...he inspected our materials and advised us what to use he showed us on his own paper the pen strokes...and left us to make a light pencil sketch occasionally watching and advising...then the sketch was outlined with ink...when it came to mixing the colours he used our palettes and paints to show us how to mix the Australian colours which do differ a little he used his own paper to demonstrate...my nervousness soon disappeared as I concentrated on what I was doing...I found some of my drawing skills returning as the afternoon went on...he gently offered advice...I know now why the enrolling Lady tried to steer me to this course...as leaving I thanked him for restoring my faith in human nature...I am an optimist and intend to stay that way...I have posted the unfinished work in my gallery under Course Work...I have brought the twig and bark home and will finish it through the week...I forgot how much I loved working with pen and nib...and as Hubby has done quite well on the gee gees lately I now have some extra money in the back of my purse so I'm going to buy some coloured inks...gee I have waxed lyrical havn't I...the only problem is that when he walked in he sneezed by the time we had finished the sneeze had turned into a full blown COLD, FLU or something...it was so quick how it came on...so I hope he dosn't turn into a SWINE...otherwise we will be quarantined by the health department :D :-D
