Art, like morality, consists in drawing the line somewhere. ~G.K. Chesterton
A little gem Sylvia!
As a young lad doing a draughtsmans apprenticeship one of the less naughtier of the sayings was "she was only a draughtsmans daughter but she knew where to draw the line" . pretty tame stuff to the rest of the limericks etc. but females entered the drawing office with great caution but really we were mostly gentlemen some of the time. Just witnessed Englands rugby team being trounced 33--13 by Australia and the BBC are handing out the black armbands and hankies. Its the end of the world! Nothing to do with art but food for thought after a double Bailleys. lol. Syd
A splendidly true and amusing quote, Sylvia. Thank you.
The Magic of a Line' - title of Dame Laura Knight's second autobiography...and she could draw!
Welcome to the POL Labyrinth, Stub. "A line has to be drawn somewhere between what is essential & what is peripheral" Sargent Shriver USA Politician & Activist 1915 - 2011
"Drawing is not what one sees but what one can make others see" Edgar Degas 1834 -1917
I get my line from Plusnet - not sure how you draw it - with a ruler? - not sure the Queen would be too happy !!
