One comment...My heart goes out to the owner who was deprived of his dream, as so many others have been, in various ways. I don't see anything desirable or pictorially interesting in that! Art is surely about creation, not destruction, is it not? Three thousand pounds would have assisted some bursary scheme for artists.... :-(

I live in a house very near to a cliff, and half of it is uninhabitable due to the famed Niton landslip. I wonder if this gentleman would like to buy it? My landlord might be interested ... we fight coastal erosion around here, so it may be a while before it goes over the edge; still, all offers gratefully received, I'm sure... Erosion, and loss of property, may be an entertaining project for some, but is a tragedy for those involved. You have to be an outsider to see any artistic worth in the process - and I'm not at all sure that this fact doesn't vitiate the whole exercise. Discuss..... one side of the paper only.....
