Lucian Freud...Man with Rat in the Flesh

I didn't visit the gallery with the art group on Saturday I overdid it on Friday trying to create some studio for myself. I asked one of my friends to look out for the painting for me and she did. Yes it is hanging in The Art Gallery of Western Australia...away in a corner with others similar. My friend had a good look at the painting and she thought although confronting she saw the poverty and loss in it...she like me looked at the face...after the surreptitious squint all over she appreciated the painting. Our weather is to warm up at the weekend so I think a trip to the gallery is in order just to see the painting. I had told her that last time I was there I was disappointed and she felt the same and apart from viewing "Man with Rat" I hadn't missed anything...it seems that most of the really good stuff is down in the basement...I wonder why...I think I'll ask when I go...we pay for the gallery it is State run and I don't see why we are prevented from going anytime we like to see some wonderful works of art. So when I go I shall make a beeline and pass on to you all what it's like in the flesh so to speak.
