Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. This week my blog is all about working outside and includes suggestions when dealing with the general public. It's busy over here in Suffolk. I've been painting up lots of Boho Wedding sign boards that I've been making for lots of happy couples, as well as our Summer Programme of Events coming out for The Art Retreat (our studio) here in Woodbridge. I hope you like the article. It's based on a day out I enjoyed en famille in Norwich - when we came across a man painting... Best, Samantha http://www.samanthabarnes.com/boho-boards/
Yes, there's no excuse for rudeness. However, at times like those someone is working to pay the bills and you've just got to crack on and get the job done. I played at a wedding a few weeks back - just me and my guitar - the Bride and Groom were leading everybody out of the ceremony room and one chap looked over at my music: "Oh, Elton John" he said. Now, you can't just reply because you have to make sure you've got enough of it in your head and even the word "Yes" has to fit in after that and before the next bit you need to get under your fingers, so there's a short delay. "Yes". "Did the Bride pick the music?" he asked. Short delay. "Yes" and I wanted to say "Now please sod off and let me do what I'm being paid for" but you can't do that despite it being hugely distracting. A friend of mine in the US is a singer. He says people come up to him and try to start a conversation mid-song. I figure they don't even get "Yes". I played at the Nat West in Woodbridge the other year for their refurb and relaunch; nice place and I'd like to get out there again. Your drop-in sounds a good idea - let's see how the diary goes.
Yup! Human nature Syd!
I tried that when painting en plein air and it certainly worked
Thanks Syd - having swallowed the darn thing I've now got a touch of constipation - should have logged out - and a special thank you for all your contributions to the forum - I am sure I am talking on behalf of everyone when I say you are one of our most valued and loved of all those who take part in the forum. Keep posting Syd.

Sounds infuriating, Syd - I use a desktop pc, and the only trouble I've had occurred when I had to change my email address, but Dawn got that sorted out very quickly. Are you able to stay logged in - i.e. don't log out at all? I've never used an Ipad so don't know if that's possible or would help. I also use Google Chrome as my main web-browser, which remembers a lot of my passwords - the non-senstive non-financial ones - for me. So if I log out, and then forget how to log back in (which even at my age is becoming a problem!) Chrome will put up the password for me. Any use?
