I have noticed over a period of time that some forum visitors who belaredly join a discussion (or thread by another name) Quickly. scroll ,through all the posts without reading them then ask questions that have been answered already on the thread . I dont get it but maybe some other people have noticed this phenomena and can explain why this happens. Too much to read maybe ? discuss Syd

I think Syd that new forumites simply read a list , see a topic ,join in ,and as you say make comments which at a very late stage are completely irrelevant.
If they did look properly they might see how old that topic is but that's an ideal world.
Sometimes the thread is really ancient and the originators are not even involved any more . I have even seen threads continued when the artist involved is actually dead.
Apart from POL having a huge clear out I'm sure it will continue. It only happens occasionally so not too much hassle, also it's usually someone who joins for five minutes and is never seen again.

It happens on other forum sites too, and in music as well as art; new members can't be bothered to learn where things go and are a bit lazy when it comes to reading what's actually been said and when or how the forum works, so they just pile in with what they have to say.
So long as the new content adds to the debate then I reckon it's ok to reinvigorate ancient threads. I do, however, feel a bit sad for contributors who post things like "I did that too" or "Eric Clapton's rubbish" without expanding on, or justifying, what they're saying; I assume they don't have the education to be able to do so.

How to get the latest: Click on Art Community, the Forum. The a bar comes up near the top left side, saying (Home Explore Latest Popular Members Who's On). Just click on "Latest" and it sorts out all the thread in chronological order with the ones with the latest additions on the top. If you scroll down, you will see all the incomprehensible colour coding. Hope this helps and saves you time. Linda
