Deeply saddened to hear this evening of the death of the fine Scottish painter Ken Bushe, on Monday January 25th, from cancer. I knew he'd been seriously ill, and feared the worst when I didn't hear from him. Ken usually painted in oil, and was a great student of the marvellous skies over the River Tay, which he painted in all their moods. He was endlessly encouraging and supportive of others, always prepared to offer advice and help. For me, this is the worst news of what's already turned into a new year of sadness and loss. He was I think one of the best painters in oil working in Britain, and a wizard of the website - he had several, and I hope they'll be allowed to stand as a memorial to him; just type his name into Google to see his work, if you didn't already know it.
Only knew of his work through the interweb but recognise he was a very talented individual Always sad to learn of the demise of a good artist. I've mourned a few bad ones as well to eliminate any accusation of bias!
