Well June is flying by, just thought I would add another holiday sketch, this time of the wharf buildings. one of these contain the new recreation of the Long ship found at Sutton Hoo. They are recreating it using traditional methods.

I enjoyed the film adaptation of the Sutton hoo discovery. My great-uncle was one of the archaeologists involved (though not in the film!). I need to sketch much more than I do (anything is more than not at all!). I recently joined an art group, so am enjoying the still life challenges, plus the different medias in the ‘paint-along’ nights. They also do a 6-week project (a different person sets the project each time). This time the project is to draw with just 2B, 3B and 4B pencils. I haven’t drawn with pencils in such a long time…. So here’s my first attempt. I had been sewing new ‘knees’ on my gardening trousers and left the scissors and pins out on the kitchen table. Later, endulged in a glass of (very cheap) wine with a ‘ping’ curry. I couldn’t be bothered to draw all the woven bits of the table mat!
